The cumulative amount of applications for hospital bill refunds on the refund platform "Samjeomsam," operated by Jobis&Villains Corp., has surpassed 300 billion won.
Jobis&Villains Corp. said on the 27th that the cumulative number of customers using the Samjeomsam hospital bill refund service has exceeded 450,000, and the cumulative number of uses has also surpassed 1.5 million.
This performance comes about 5 years and 1 month after launching the indemnity insurance claim service.
In particular, growth accelerated after the insurtech company microprotect was incorporated as a subsidiary at the end of September last year. In the six months after joining Samjeomsam, it recorded about 160 billion won in additional refund applications, surpassing the cumulative results of about 4 years and 6 months before the acquisition.
The company cited the simplification of handling the claim process within a single app as a key growth driver. It improved convenience through UI/UX enhancements and completely redesigned operating processes to eliminate unnecessary steps. It also said that by introducing OCR (optical character recognition) technology and automating manual verification procedures, it sped up document processing.
Starting at the end of this month, it also plans to provide more granular updates on refund progress. After applying for the service, users will be able to see specifically which stage their refund is in.
Lee Kyung-hee, a PM at Jobis&Villains Corp., said, "We feel great pride and meaning in returning value amounting to 300 billion won to our customers," adding, "We will actively listen to customers' voices and reflect them so they can use the service with greater peace of mind."
