Samsung Electronics is launching the "Samsung Wallet Travel" service to improve Galaxy users' travel experiences.
Samsung Wallet Travel is a feature that integrates travel-related information such as airline boarding passes, hotel reservations, and theme park and sports game tickets in the Samsung Wallet app. It brings together itineraries scattered across multiple apps and platforms into one place to improve convenience.
After creating a travel item in Samsung Wallet, users can check their schedules categorized by time and location through the "Trip Timeline." They can add detailed itineraries or use the memo feature to record related links and information, enabling systematic travel planning.
Samsung Electronics worked with global partners to allow hotel and flight booking confirmations and activity tour tickets to be added directly to Samsung Wallet. The company plans to expand partnerships to broaden the travel information it can provide.
The industry sees mobile wallets expanding beyond payment methods into lifestyle platforms that include IDs, tickets, and reservation information. Reducing app switching during travel and instantly checking necessary information is emerging as a competitive edge.
Samsung Electronics applied Samsung Knox–based security and encryption, along with biometric authentication, so only the device owner can access travel information.
Vice President Chae Won-cheol, head of the Digital Wallet Team in the MX Division at Samsung Electronics, said, "We will help Galaxy users manage their travel information smartly so they can focus solely on the joy of travel."
