Naver Cloud and HanmiGlobal said on the 24th that they signed a strategic business agreement on the 22nd to jointly participate in large-scale global data center projects, including in Saudi Arabia.
The agreement was pursued to combine the two companies' core strengths to jointly address data center projects in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, and overseas, and to enhance technological competitiveness in the global market.
Based on its full-stack capabilities spanning from data center construction to cloud and AI services, Naver Cloud will be responsible for setting infrastructure technology direction and strategy and designing business structures and service models that meet global standards. HanmiGlobal will handle data center design and construction consulting, project management for schedule and expense, and local licensing and business execution in Saudi Arabia.
Centering on Naver Innovation, a joint venture with the National Housing Company (NHC) of Saudi Arabia, Naver Cloud has built a collaboration base focused on digital and AI services, including building a Digital Twin and developing a map-based super app. The company said the data center agreement is expected to broaden the business scope into infrastructure and lay the groundwork for becoming a key partner in Saudi Arabia's mid- to long-term digital transformation.
HanmiGlobal has carried out more than 50 projects since entering the Middle East market in 2007.
