SK hynix said at a first-quarter earnings conference call on the 23rd that "as artificial intelligence (AI) models become more advanced, the volume of intermediate data processing is surging," and "accordingly, customers are increasingly adopting high-performance, high-capacity enterprise solid-state drives (eSSD)."
It added, "We will actively respond to this shift in demand by strengthening our technology and expanding output," noting, "we developed the world's first 321-layer quad-level cell (QLC) NAND and secured a significant technology lead through customer qualification." In particular, it is also accelerating its production conversion strategy.
SK hynix said, "By the end of this year, we plan to convert more than 50% of domestic NAND production to 321-layer products," adding, "once the phase-two conversion is complete, we expect a meaningful improvement in productivity."
