KT Skylife said on the 16th that it will broadcast every match of the "52nd Journalists Association of Korea Seoul regional soccer tournament" with "Pochak," an artificial intelligence (AI)-based sports analysis solution.
In September last year, KT Skylife signed a "business agreement for AI project cooperation" with the Journalists Association of Korea and broadcast the 51st Journalists Association of Korea Seoul regional soccer tournament with "Pochak."
Pochak is a sports broadcasting platform that uses AI cameras to automatically track players' movements and the ball's trajectory for filming, and automates the entire process from editing to transmission. It can provide high-definition game footage without dedicated professional filming staff, improving broadcast access at amateur sports sites.
Pochak is also being adopted by professional clubs in baseball, basketball, and soccer. Starting with KT wiz last year, KT Sonicboom, Lotte Giants, and Paju Frontier FC (K2 League) have set up broadcasting facilities at their training grounds.
The company is building Pochak systems for local governments as well as pro clubs. In just the first quarter of this year, AI sports broadcasting systems were introduced at 10 stadiums nationwide, including in Ulsan and Yongin. Each local government said it adopted "Pochak" to improve sports welfare for residents, including amateur sports club members and parents.
