Apple updated its operating system, iOS 26.4, just two weeks after release, but iPhone users are panning it. Users said errors such as Wi-Fi dropouts and stuttering are occurring on devices even after updating.
On the 14th, complaints about iOS 26.4.1 continued to appear on Apple's user community. Users left reviews such as "After the update, I can't control the volume, making everyday life inconvenient," and "Wi-Fi disconnects automatically or the screen stutters badly." Similar comments appeared on the country's largest Apple user community, "Asamo." Users posted reviews such as "After the update, mobile data often doesn't work well, which is inconvenient," and "Wi-Fi disconnects and sometimes the volume suddenly jumps, which can be startling."
Global users also criticized iOS 26.4.1 on the online community Reddit. Many said the battery drains faster after the update. A user who said they use the iPhone 16 Pro Max wrote, "The battery issue is serious on both iOS 26.4 and iOS 26.4.1." A user who said they use the iPhone 15 Pro Max left a review saying, "The battery health of my two-and-a-half-year-old phone was 94%, but it seems to drain faster after the update."
Earlier, on the 24th of last month, Apple officially released iOS 26.4 as a regular update. iOS 26.4 came out six weeks after iOS 26.3. Apple said of iOS 26.4, "With this update, we added playlist playground and concert features to Apple Music, included eight new emoji, and provided various features, bug fixes, and security updates."
But controversy has continued since iOS 26.4 was released. After special characters disappeared from the keyboard, one user in the United States was unable to unlock their iPhone password. According to foreign media, the user visited an Apple Store to get the password unlocked, but employees were reportedly unable to resolve the issue.
Apple is currently gauging user response by releasing the beta (developer) version of the next regular operating system, iOS 26.5.
