Kakao Mobility is joining hands with Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) to implement AI-based intelligent rail mobility.
Kakao Mobility and KORAIL said on the 14th that they signed a business agreement for "technology cooperation for AI-based rail safety and service innovation." Under the agreement, the two organizations will combine train operation data with AI technology to implement user-centered intelligent rail mobility.
Specifically, the two organizations will open their data to each other, including ticket reservation information and station-area traffic information, to improve customer convenience, and will combine AI technology with train operation data to promote station wayfinding and enhanced safety for rail crossing users. They will develop an uninterrupted "integrated journey (End-to-End)" service from departure to destination and pursue upgrades such as big data-based headway management and demand-forecasting algorithm sophistication.
KIM Tae-seung, president of KORAIL, said, "We will strengthen the safety and services for rail users with AI technology to materially improve the public's mobility convenience."
RYU Keung-sun, CEO of Kakao Mobility, said, "We expect Kakao Mobility's platform operation know-how and AI technology, combined with rail infrastructure, to contribute to innovation in public services."
