Samsung SDS said on the 14th that it completed phase one of the National Assembly big data platform (AI National Assembly) project and launched the National Assembly AI legislative support platform.
The National Assembly AI legislative support platform is a National Assembly–exclusive Generative AI system that supports search, analysis, and drafting based on a vast dataset built in connection with 320 institutions inside and outside the National Assembly. About 5,000 people affiliated with the National Assembly, including lawmakers and aides, will use the service.
According to Samsung SDS, the Generative AI–based legislative support services provided on the platform are broadly three: AI assistant (secretary), intelligent search, and a bill service.
The AI assistant provides a chatbot that answers questions about National Assembly work or policy and offers work support services such as generating various document drafts and summarizing meeting minutes. Intelligent search is a function that can search materials inside and outside the National Assembly, implemented using Samsung SDS's in-house Generative AI service platform FabriX. The bill service recommends similar bills or bill provisions using AI.
The project will proceed in three phases through 2027. In this first phase, Samsung SDS built an intelligent legislative support service applying Generative AI and big data analysis technologies and the National Assembly big data platform infrastructure. It was built in an on-premises environment in the National Assembly Secretariat's data center to enhance security. A Samsung SDS official said, "The goal is to integrate and analyze data from the National Assembly and external partner institutions to support policy decision-making and shift legislative and parliamentary activities to a data-centric approach."
