SK hynix will hire full-time production workers. The move is seen as a response to surging demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips and the company's growing capacity.
According to the industry on the 13th, SK hynix posted a notice on its recruitment website the same day for "April Talent Highway maintenance and operators." The deadline is through the 22nd of this month.
Among full-time roles, maintenance handles semiconductor manufacturing equipment upkeep and line operations, while operators conduct quality-related tests and defect inspections.
Eligible applicants are high school or junior college graduates who can join in July–August, with worksites at the Icheon campus in Gyeonggi, and the Yongin and Cheongju campuses in North Chungcheong.
After passing the document screening, candidates will take the written test in May, the SKCT (SK Competency Test), followed by interviews in June, after which final selections will be made.
Earlier this year, SK hynix revamped its existing experienced-hire brand "Monthly Hynix Talent" into "Monthly Highway," expanding rolling recruitment beyond office roles to full-time production positions. The aim is to secure semiconductor talent without restrictions on timing or channels.
Those hired this time are expected to be assigned not only to the existing Icheon campus but also potentially to Cheongju M15X and the Yongin semiconductor cluster, which the company is building to expand capacity.
Earlier this month, SK hynix also posted the "April Monthly Highway (experienced)" notice and began hiring in technology research and development (tech R&D), information technology (IT), and manufacturing.
The securities industry expects SK hynix to achieve an operating profit of 250 trillion won this year on the back of a semiconductor supercycle.
If that outlook materializes, the funding for the "profit sharing (PS)" to be paid early next year—10% of operating profit—would reach 25 trillion won.
Although it varies by rank and years of service, a simple calculation using the total headcount of about 35,000 suggests an average performance bonus of about 700 million won per employee before tax.
