KT will unveil the Genie TV Tab 4, a tablet-type device with IPTV functions, on the 13th. The product can be subscribed to and purchased at KT stores nationwide, on the official online mall KT.com, and through the customer center.
The Genie TV Tab line targets demand for a "second TV" that lets users watch live channels and video on demand (VOD) anywhere in the home, and the new model stands out for boosting both accessibility and AI features.
The new model places a Genie TV widget on the home screen, allowing direct access to popular content without a separate app. It also adds a call function for Google's Gemini AI model to enhance the experience of finding content by voice or asking for daily information. This shows that IPTV devices are expanding beyond simple viewing hardware into AI-based personal media devices.
The hardware keeps an 11-inch display and a 7,040mAh battery while supporting 25W fast charging. It offers 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, and external storage is expandable up to 2TB. The color is a single gray model, and the factory price is 379,500 won.
Users can access live broadcasts, VOD, and Kids Land, as well as OTT and AI services, on KT Wi-Fi at home. Existing KT IPTV subscribers can use it like an auxiliary TV by adding 8,800 won per month to their TV plan, and customers who only want to buy the device can receive an installment discount benefit by subscribing to the Samsung Choice plan.
KT plans to target demand for devices that broaden the living room-centered IPTV experience into personal spaces.
