Artificial intelligence (AI) corporations Ellis Group said on the 13th that it secured strategic investments from DongKuk Holdings and GS Ventures.
With this investment as a starting point, Ellis Group decided to pursue cooperation with DongKuk Holdings and GS Ventures on AI infrastructure.
DongKuk Holdings has a site suitable for use as AI data center infrastructure, based on large-scale power receiving facilities located within the Dongkuk Steel steel sites. GS Ventures, the corporate venture capital (CVC) arm of GS Group, is making strategic investments for future businesses.
Ellis Group plans to expand AI data center business opportunities based on its cloud technology and large-scale clustering capabilities using graphics processing units (GPUs).
Ellis Group CEO Kim Jae-won said, "With this strategic investment, Ellis Group will secure a stable power base and contribute to the self-reliance of domestic AI infrastructure and the expansion of the industrial ecosystem."
