LG Innotek said on the 9th that it held a "labor-management joint action agreement ceremony" to create a healthy and safe workplace.
Ten people, including President Moon Hyuk-soo of LG Innotek and union leader Lee Jung-il, attended the event. The agreement was pursued as labor and management reached a consensus under the recognition that employee health and safety are directly linked to the sustainable growth of corporations.
Through the "labor-management joint action declaration," the company expressed its intention to jointly devise solutions to create a safe workplace based on open communication and mutual trust.
It also promised to establish a care system that balances members' lives and work, and to realize an organizational culture where employees can demonstrate their capabilities based on physical and psychological stability.
LG Innotek plans to launch a separate consultative body, the "labor-management joint task," within this month to implement the agreement. The body will jointly identify and carry out safety and health-related tasks that can be felt on the ground.
It will newly introduce a joint labor-management brand to spread a safety culture and operate various safety and health management programs.
It also plans to expand safety and health-related social contribution activities for local communities and partners, strengthening the social responsibility of labor and management.
Union leader Lee Jung-il said, "We will move in step with management on the path to creating a healthy and safe workplace so that the company's growth can directly lead to the happiness of union members."
President Moon Hyuk-soo said, "This agreement is labor and management's promise to make the health and safety of executives and employees the top priority value and to protect it through various forms of cooperation," adding, "Management will also listen to voices from the field and stay with you to the end."
