Jobis&Villains Corp. said on Apr. 9 that Samjeomsam surpassed a cumulative 24.5 million subscribers six years after its launch, establishing itself as public life infrastructure.
The 24.5 million figure is about 83% of the 29.4 million economically active population as of Feb. 2026, meaning 4 out of 5 members of the workforce use it.
Since its launch in May 2020 as a tax assistance service, Samjeomsam began by addressing tax blind spots for non-standard workers such as freelancers, gig workers, and multi-job workers, and has since expanded into a taxtech service that now covers office workers and sole proprietors.
The increase in subscribers was driven by a balanced user distribution across all age groups. Those in their 20s and 30s and those in their 40s and 50s each accounted for more than 40%, while those in their 60s and older were about 10%.
Service performance also expanded rapidly. Over the past 6 years, the cumulative amount of refund filings surpassed 2.076 trillion won, which means an average of about 960 million won in refund filings per day.
Kim Beom-seop, CEO of Jobis&Villains Corp., said, "Samjeomsam surpassed a cumulative refund filing amount of 2.07 trillion won six years after its launch, creating a meaningful trend in taxtech," and added, "We will continue to uncover hidden benefits and blind spots in the institutional sphere so that we can return customers' rights."
