LG CNS said on the 9th that, together with SAP, it unveiled a next-generation AX (AI transformation) strategy that applies artificial intelligence (AI) to enterprise resource planning (ERP).
LG CNS co-hosted the "Business AI for ERP Summit" with SAP at the Josun Palace Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and announced a direction for ERP innovation based on "SAP Business AI." About 200 stakeholders from a range of industries, including manufacturing, logistics, retail, and telecommunications, attended the event.
SAP Business AI is a technology that applies AI to core systems of corporations—such as finance, procurement, production, and the supply chain—to automate repetitive tasks and support data-driven decision-making. LG CNS is securing related capabilities through collaboration with SAP and moving to take the lead in the AI ERP market.
LG CNS has been developing specialists in cooperation with SAP Asia Pacific (APAC), and early this year established a dedicated organization, the "ERP AX Business Unit," to ramp up AI-based ERP consulting and implementation projects.
It has also provided ERP systems across various industries—including manufacturing, chemicals, retail, and aviation—based on services that cover the full cycle from ERP consulting to implementation, operations, and advancement. Recently, through its "AX on ERP" strategy that applies cutting-edge technologies such as agentic AI, it has been supporting task automation and process innovation.
The event also shared ways to generate results after adopting AI. SAP emphasized the "AI value gap," in which AI investments fail to deliver returns, and presented the importance of a strategy to embed AI across enterprise operations. LG CNS introduced an AI ERP adoption plan tailored to the domestic environment of corporations.
Actual corporate cases were also disclosed. Through the AI ERP adoption cases of LG Innotek and CJ CheilJedang, field application results were shared, and an AX application methodology tailored to the characteristics of each corporation was also presented.
LG CNS also introduced ways to link physical AI-based robotics technology with ERP, presenting a future direction for business innovation that combines robots and AI.
LG CNS is continuing to strengthen its strategic cooperation with SAP and is enhancing its competitiveness in ERP and AI technologies through participation in global events and expanded partnerships.
Executive Vice President Nae Hansin, head of the LG CNS Enterprise Solutions Division, said, "AI must not be a simple tool but embedded as an operating system for the organization," and added, "Based on our collaboration with SAP, we will deliver tangible innovation outcomes."
