Overdare, a subsidiary of Krafton, said on the 8th that it unveiled an artificial intelligence (AI) agent-based game production feature.
On the day, Overdare introduced "Studio Agent," a feature in which, when a user enters instructions in natural language in a chat window, AI directly controls the game editor and implements the game. The company said, "Without a complicated development process, you can make a game just by entering commands as if conversing with an AI chatbot."
Studio Agent incorporates AI agent technology developed in-house by Overdare and is based on a custom Unreal Engine 5 optimized for mobile environments. The AI agent communicates internally with the Overdare Studio editor and autonomously performs various object creation, editing, and application processes, including scripts, according to user instructions. Users can immediately check the results generated by AI and continue working by giving additional instructions.
It is also possible to combine AI with manual editing. For fine-tuned tasks such as adjusting object positions or modifying values, users can edit directly in the editor.
The "AI Costume" feature, which automatically generates avatar clothing textures, was also unveiled. Without a separate production process, users can enter the desired style and quickly generate various outfits.
Overdare plans to gradually advance its AI-based production capabilities starting with the unveiling of Studio Agent. It aims to expand in a direction where AI handles even art asset placement and level design, building an environment in which AI can produce entire games.
An Overdare official said, "The key is to make the game production process intuitive through AI agents," adding, "We will continue to develop a production environment where anyone can quickly realize ideas."
This release from Overdare aligns with Krafton's AI strategy. Krafton declared a transition to an "AI-first" corporations in Oct. last year. The company said it would invest 100 billion won to strengthen AI infrastructure going forward and apply AI to the entire decision-making process to boost productivity.
