Samsung Electronics said on Apr. 8 that 14 models, including its 2026 OLED and The Frame Pro TVs and soundbars, received a "carbon reduction" certification from Germany's TUV Rheinland.

TUV Rheinland evaluates greenhouse gas emissions generated across the stages of TV manufacturing, transport, use, and disposal based on its own measurement criteria. Products that show reduced carbon emissions compared with previous models in the same class through corporations' ongoing efforts to cut carbon emissions are awarded the carbon reduction certification.

Samsung Electronics received the first carbon reduction certification for a TV with 4K or higher resolution with its Neo QLED TV in 2021. It also obtained carbon reduction certifications for a range of product lines including QLED, organic light-emitting diode (OLED), lifestyle TVs, monitors, and signage.

Vice President Son Tae-yong of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Division said, "As the No. 1 corporations leading the global TV market, Samsung Electronics will not only deliver overwhelming picture quality technologies but also take the lead in carbon neutrality across the entire product life cycle to build a better future."
