Ridi said on Apr. 8 that it will newly roll out manga on the global webtoon platform Manta.
Since its 2020 launch, Manta has grown on a hybrid business model combining subscription and one-off payments, and it has recorded 19 million cumulative downloads in 175 countries. Following the addition of web novels last year, the expansion to manga makes it an all-in-one story platform that encompasses webtoons, web novels and comics.
With the introduction of manga, users can now enjoy a variety of genres and formats on a single platform. The company plans to build an environment where fans can naturally experience multiple types of content and strengthen a fandom-centered content ecosystem.
The manga lineup spans various genres, including romance, action and sports, and includes popular IP such as "WIND BREAKER," "Medalist" and "Fragrant Flowers Bloom with Dignity." The lineup will continue to expand through collaborations with various publishers.
Manta will also run a promotion with Japanese publisher Kodansha to mark the manga launch. Through the 20th, it will offer volume 1 of more than 400 titles at a discount of over 90%, and all participating customers will receive gems that can be used to purchase content.
Ridi CEO Bae Gi-sik said, "Webtoons, web novels and manga are content with their own charms," adding, "We will keep strengthening our content competitiveness so that people can enjoy a variety of stories within a single ecosystem without switching platforms."
