LG Uplus will work with IBK System to develop artificial intelligence (AI) services optimized for finance.
LG Uplus and IBK System said on the 7th that they signed a "memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation on finance-specialized AI business" at IBK System's headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 6th. Attending the signing were Kwon Yong-hyun, head of the enterprise division (executive vice president) at LG Uplus, and Hyun Kwon-ik, CEO of IBK System.
Through this agreement, the two companies will combine LG Uplus' AI technology and IBK System's finance domain capabilities to develop "finance-specialized AI services."
The finance-specialized AI services will be implemented as agents that can be applied to real financial settings. They are expected to simultaneously raise financial companies' work efficiency and security levels.
LG Uplus' B2B (business-to-business) AX (AI transformation) platform will be used to develop the finance-specialized AI services. The platform is an intelligent work-innovation system based on a corporate work agent. It is equipped with an optimized model of the large Generative AI "EXAONE (LG AI Research)" developed by LG AI Research, enabling the creation of custom AI agents for corporations.
In particular, the company said the B2B AX platform provides as an integrated package the core functions needed to implement AI agents—such as an agent core, a knowledge management system (KMS), and LLMOps (large language model operations)—all developed in-house.
The two companies will incorporate IBK System's financial operations expertise and operational technology into the platform.
The two companies will expand cooperation with the goal of structural innovation across financial operations. To that end, they plan multifaceted collaboration, including ▲ joint planning of financial services and business cooperation ▲ discovery of new business models ▲ productization and joint marketing of services for the financial sector ▲ promotion of next-generation intelligent finance businesses.
