Hanwha Semitec said on the 2nd that it unveiled a new chip mounter targeting the next-generation equipment market at Korea's largest surface mount technology (SMT) exhibition.
Hanwha Semitec showcased new products, including "DECAN S1 Plus, S2 Plus," at "SSPA (Smart SMT&PCB Assembly) 2026," which opened on the 1st at the Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi Province.
Hanwha Semitec's "DECAN" series is a high-performance chip mounter that can handle a wide range of components. It cuts board recognition time by about 30% compared with previous models, enabling mounting of up to 95,000 chips per hour. With next-generation vision technology, it automatically confirms mounting points and performs precise calibration to minimize component and expense loss.
It can also handle high-weight printed circuit boards (PCB) up to 4.5 kg. A user-friendly user interface (UI) was introduced, and the expanded display screen improves convenience.
Hanwha Semitec also showcased at its booth ▲ high-speed chip mounters including "HM520W" ▲ the software solution "T-solution," which supports Smart Factory implementation across the entire production process ▲ autonomous mobile robots (AMR) applicable to SMT processes.
Debuting for the first time at a domestic exhibition, the AMR is a mobile robot that recognizes obstacles along its route, drives autonomously, and performs transport tasks. By automating the supply and collection of materials, it enables both unmanned SMT lines and productivity gains.
A Hanwha Semitec official said, "Starting with this exhibition, we will prove our technological competitiveness in high-growth, high value-added electronics markets such as servers and data centers, networks, and automotive electronics," adding, "We will strengthen our position as a global corporations leading AI-based automation."
