NC said on the 2nd that its new name stands for "Next & Creative." It said the name reflects a determination to create new value for the next generation based on a challenge toward the future (Next) and creativity (Creative).
Co-CEOs Kim Taek-jin and Park Byung-moo of NC said in an in-house email that "our mission is to cultivate new value based on NC's corporate spirit of challenge and creativity," adding, "as creators of the future, let every member be more enterprising and bold as we pioneer our future."
The new CI (corporate identity) was said to present a direction of growing beyond games into a technology, content, and platform corporations. The company added that it embodies an identity of creating new experiences and enjoyment based on innovation and technology.
Earlier, NC declared it would build a sustainable growth model centered on three growth pillars: existing intellectual property (IP), including its flagship "Lineage" series; new IP such as shooting and subculture; and mobile casual, and raise its annual revenue from the current 1.5 trillion won to 5 trillion won in four years.
