SHIFT UP said on the 1st that it acquired Unbound, a Japanese game developer, by purchasing 100% of its equity.
Unbound is a PC and console game development studio where veteran developers, led by Mikami Shinji, who has experience developing global hits including the "Resident Evil" series, as well as the "Devil May Cry" and "The Evil Within" series and "Okami," are participating.
Through this acquisition, SHIFT UP will secure top-tier global development talent and accelerate the expansion of its new PC- and console-based pipeline. Going forward, it plans to directly handle publishing (distribution) for Unbound's new titles and gradually build its own global service capabilities.
Unbound is currently developing original intellectual property (IP) for PC and console with a unique concept aimed at the global market.
