Kakao Mobility said on Apr. 1 it will pilot an "AI photo intake" feature for the Kakao T quick and delivery service.
Powered by Google's AI model Gemini, the "AI photo intake" lets customers take a photo in Kakao T of the item they plan to send via the quick service, and the AI analyzes the item's type and size to automatically fill in the order form. A Kakao Mobility official said, "We expect it will lower the entry barrier for users who didn't know how to choose item sizes and delivery vehicles when using the quick service for the first time."
The "AI photo intake" also explains the reasons for its recommended order details. For example, when a photo is taken for cake delivery, it provides the explanation, "A compact car is more suitable than a motorcycle because it is less shaky and safer." It also shares the note to the quick driver, "This is a cake. Please deliver carefully to avoid damage."
A Kakao Mobility official said, "We will continue to enhance services within the Kakao T app so users can directly experience everyday convenience through AI technology."
