Global taxi-hailing platform Uber Taxi said on Apr. 1 that it launched a premium mobility service, "PremierVan."
PremierVan is a service suited for traveling with several people or when there is a lot of luggage, based on its ample space. It can seat up to five people and can hold up to four 30-inch suitcases. Uber Taxi said, "This service was planned to reflect rising family and group travel demand such as airport transfers, trips, and golf."
Users can easily request a ride by selecting PremierVan in the vehicle options within the Uber app. For user convenience, it operates under a "pre-confirmed fare system." The fare checked in the app before boarding is charged as is, easing concerns about fare changes due to traffic congestion or route changes.
Paid membership service "Uber One" members of Uber Taxi receive a benefit that accrues up to 5% of the payment amount as "Uber One Credit."
PremierVan will expand its service area starting with Seoul. A reservation feature that allows users to set boarding times in advance will also be introduced sequentially, making it convenient for cases that require advance booking, such as airport transfers.
An Uber Taxi official said, "As the mobility patterns of domestic and overseas users diversify, and demand has especially increased among tourists for group travel and ample cargo space, we launched PremierVan," adding, "We will work to provide the best travel experience for foreign tourists to help revitalize domestic tourism and offer more choices for both passengers and drivers."
