Harman Automotive of Harman International, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, said on Apr. 1 it will hold "Harman Explore Korea 2026," an event to showcase new technologies to domestic automakers.
The event will be held for two days from Apr. 8 at Project Space LINE in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and Harman will introduce its Harman Ready product portfolio, including car audio products, a "telematics control unit" (TCU) featuring Samsung Electronics' 5G Network technology, and in-vehicle displays incorporating Samsung Electronics' Neo QLED technology.
Harman also secured technology for entering the vehicle software market, including announcing last year the acquisition of the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) institutional sector of Germany's "ZF Friedrichshafen."
In addition, based on synergy with Samsung Electronics, which has built car-to-home and home-to-car cooperation with domestic automakers on the foundation of SmartThings, the company said it plans to lead the future software-defined vehicle (SDV) market.
Earlier, by acquiring "Sound United," the audio institutional sector of U.S.-based Masimo, Harman secured brands such as "Denon," "Marantz," "Polk," and "Definitive Technology," along with "Bowers & Wilkins."
