Megazone Cloud said on the 30th that it will partner with AVITA, a leading Japanese artificial intelligence (AI) avatar corporations, to develop a physical AI business model.
The two sides recently signed a "strategic partnership for joint development of a physical AI business model" at the Megazone Cloud liaison office in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul. The signing ceremony was attended by Megazone Cloud CEO Yeom Dong-hoon and AVITA Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Shogo Nishiguchi, along with key officials from both sides.
Through this agreement, the two sides plan to combine Megazone Cloud's cloud and AI capabilities with AVITA's AI avatar technology to develop physical AI services linked with autonomous robots and apply them across various industrial sites.
Unlike conventional robots that repeat preprogrammed actions, autonomous robots recognize and judge their surroundings with AI and act accordingly. When combined with AVITA's AI avatar technology, robots can hold natural conversations with customers and autonomously perform guidance and consultations. AVITA is an AI avatar solution corporations founded in 2021 by Osaka University roboticist Hiroshi Ishiguro, a world-renowned robotics expert known for humanoid research.
Leveraging its AI-integrated cloud infrastructure and domestic and overseas sales network, Megazone Cloud will support the development and business expansion of physical AI services that link AVITA's customer service "AVACOM" and education service "AvaTraining" with autonomous humanoids. AVITA will handle service advancement based on its AI avatar technology.
The two sides plan to promote the application of related services in various industrial settings, including unmanned checkouts at retail stores, customer guidance at department stores, and insurance consultation training, and will expand the scope of cooperation to key sectors such as finance and the public sector in the future.
