TikTok said on the 30th that it will expand support programs for music creators active on Live.
TikTok has rapidly expanded the live music ecosystem through music events and creator development programs, and as a result, the number of live music creators in Korea increased about tenfold in one year. The company said it will go beyond simply encouraging participation to strengthen a structure that allows creators to build fandoms and continue activities based on differentiated music content.
In particular, the company plans to expand creators' scope of activity by consolidation of online, live-centered activity with offline performances, creating growth opportunities that lead to the global stage. To that end, it will continue to expand new stage experiences through a variety of performance programs and external partnerships.
In this regard, TikTok held "TikTok Live Spring Busking" at Jeju Eco Land on the 27th. The event was designed to allow live music creators to communicate directly with fans on offline stages.
The performance was run in a format that allowed on-site audiences and live viewers to participate simultaneously. Offline attendees enjoyed the performance on-site, while online users took part through real-time chat, creating a new music content experience that combined online and offline.
Starting with this busking event, TikTok plans to expand regular performances and continue to strengthen offline content through various venues and partnerships. It also plans to broaden creators' opportunities to advance overseas by linking with global music events.
