NHN Waplat said on the 30th that it will release the results of the "Neulpyeonhan AI Care" program being run in Gyeonggi Province and move to expand an artificial intelligence (AI)-based integrated care model.

With demand rising for integrated services that combine health care and caregiving as the "Integrated Care Support Act" takes full effect, NHN Waplat has worked preemptively with Gyeonggi Province to build an AI-based care model.

Through the program, the "Waplat AI life supporter" service is being provided to seniors ages 65 and older in Gyeonggi Province, and about 2,000 people have used it so far. Operated mainly through about 50 welfare facilities, it is helping close care gaps for the elderly.

The "Waplat AI life supporter" is a smartphone-based integrated care platform that offers a range of functions from health management to well-being check-ins and emotional support. Through its Digital Healthcare features, it measures cardiovascular and stress indices, and it is designed to respond to warning signs through counseling services and a 24-hour control system.

As a result of operations, Digital Healthcare service usage exceeded 50%, and the well-being check-in rate averaged 95%, showing stable performance. In particular, increased use of medication reminders and health counseling confirmed substantial demand among seniors.

The "Waplat AI life supporter" has been adopted by 26 local governments and is expected to expand to about 40 this year.

Hwang Sun-young, CEO of NHN Waplat, said, "The AI-based integrated care model has proven effective in the field," and added, "We will expand it as a service that connects health care and caregiving."
