RaonMeta said on the 26th that it signed a business agreement with the Korean Association of Occupational Therapists to jointly develop and spread occupational therapy education content and will work to expand the virtual practicum market.
The agreement aims to supplement the practicum environment for occupational therapy education based on the Metademy platform, which combines Extended Reality (XR) and Virtual Reality (VR). The two sides plan to virtually reproduce clinical settings and link the education content to the association's official curriculum.
In particular, they will also push to develop education content that meets the international standards of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) certification. Through this, they plan to meet domestic practicum demand while strengthening global competitiveness.
On the Metademy platform, learners can repeatedly practice a range of scenarios, including activities of daily living training for stroke patients, cognitive rehabilitation assessments, and orthosis use practicums. This enables students to strengthen clinical competencies without real patients.
The two sides also plan to spread the developed content to occupational therapy departments at universities and medical institutions nationwide and promote the introduction of XR-based practicum education infrastructure.
Yun Won-seok, head of the Metademy Business Division at RaonMeta, said, "XR-based practicums are an effective education tool in occupational therapy, where clinical competency is crucial," adding, "We will help raise on-site education standards by advancing our education content."
