Samsung Electronics said on the 26th that it officially released the PC version of the mobile web browser "Samsung Browser" on the 25th.
The PC version of "Samsung Browser" was formally released about four months after it was first introduced through a beta program in Korea and the United States in Oct. last year. With this launch, users can enjoy the same browsing environment not only on smartphones but also on PCs.
"Samsung Browser" syncs browser data such as bookmarks and browsing history between mobile and PC in real time, and by sharing state between mobile and PC, it shows the exact location of the web page the user was viewing on another device.
In particular, if users enable the "Samsung Pass" feature, which autofills login information and personal data, in the PC version's sync items, they can use securely stored information in the PC browser as well. Through this, users can also log in easily with the autofill feature.
Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with Perplexity, newly equipped "Samsung Browser" with agentic AI features. "Samsung Browser" can carry out natural language-based commands and understands the content and context of the web page the user is viewing, making the browsing experience more convenient.
For example, if a user is viewing a web page introducing tourist attractions in Seoul, clicks the AI icon in the upper right, and enters "Plan a Seoul itinerary that includes the places here" in the AI agent chat window, "Samsung Browser" identifies the attractions on the page and then provides the user with an optimal travel plan that considers the route.
"Samsung Browser" can grasp not only text within web pages but also the content of video media, based on advanced natural language understanding. For example, beyond searching for a specific video or summarizing a video's content, it can find and play a specific scene within a video.
In addition to simply providing answers through web searches, it offers optimal solutions by comprehensively analyzing the user's browsing history and various open tabs.
The PC version of "Samsung Browser" is supported on Windows 11 and some Windows 10 (version 1809 or later). The agentic AI features will first launch in Korea and the United States, with availability expanding to more countries later.
