SK Broadband said on the 25th that it completed deployment of the digital signage service "B tv OnAd" at senior centers in Hapcheon County and Changwon and began expanding its smart senior center project.
The smart senior center is part of the smart village project promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT to improve welfare conditions for older adults by using information and communication technology.
"B tv OnAd" is a service that combines B tv with digital signage, helping seniors easily access a variety of leisure and welfare programs—such as health exercises, singing classes, and cognitive training—without operating a separate remote control. Local governments can remotely schedule and broadcast municipal promotions, video conferences, and emergency notices.
SK Broadband began a pilot program at 50 senior centers in Hapcheon County in Mar. last year, then expanded deployment to 470 locations in Feb. this year, and also launched a pilot at 40 locations in Changwon. Reasonable monthly subscription fees, compatibility with other providers' internet lines, and 24-hour maintenance support are cited as strengths.
Jang Si-hun, head of public sector clients at SK Broadband, said, "We will expand smart senior center services in cooperation with local governments nationwide."
