SOOP said on the 25th that it signed a strategic content partnership with LG Electronics and will expand e-sports league broadcasts through a gaming portal based on the webOS smart TV operating system.
Through this agreement, SOOP will provide e-sports content on the LG Electronics gaming portal, widening viewing access. Major leagues such as the 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) and the StarCraft: Remastered official league ASL will be available to watch on smart TVs.
The LG Electronics gaming portal is an integrated platform that lets users enjoy games and content without a separate console or PC on various devices, including webOS-based smart TVs, smart monitors, and StanbyME.
Through this collaboration, SOOP implemented a UI optimized for large screens and a high-definition, low-latency streaming environment, and extended the existing PC- and mobile-centered viewing environment to smart TVs.
Vice President Cho Byung-ha, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG Electronics, said, "We strengthened the content competitiveness of the gaming portal through cooperation with SOOP," and added, "We will provide a differentiated e-sports viewing experience on smart TVs."
SOOP CEO Choi Young-woo said, "This collaboration is a strategic partnership that expands the e-sports viewing environment into the living room," adding, "We will deliver a highly immersive viewing experience by providing various leagues in high quality."
