Krafton said on the 25th that it will host an "AI R&D Hackathon" to discover talent in the AI research and development field and is recruiting participants.
This hackathon is Krafton's first AI R&D event for the general public, and anyone interested in AI research and development can apply regardless of major, age, experience, or education. Participants will solve problems on par with leading global AI research institutes within a limited time, verifying their problem-solving ability and AI-based research and development execution skills.
The competition will proceed in two stages: preliminaries and finals. The preliminaries will be held online from Mar. 28 to 29, and the finals will take place offline from Apr. 4 to 5 at the Krafton office in Yeoksam, Seoul.
The total prize pool is 9 million won, with 5 million won for first place, 3 million won for second, and 1 million won for third. The top 10 participants will also receive a fast-track opportunity that exempts them from the document screening, job test, and job interview, sending them directly to the final interview in the hiring process.
Lee Kang-uk, Krafton's chief artificial intelligence officer (CAIO), said, "This hackathon will be an open stage where anyone can prove their potential through skill, regardless of background or experience," and added, "As a research organization leading global AI innovation, we will continue to expand our research capabilities."
