LG Electronics said on the 24th that the Tromm WashTower surpassed 3 million units sold at the end of last year and recently topped 3.2 million, continuing strong sales.
This means that since its domestic launch in Apr. 2020, more than one unit has been sold per minute over about six years.
LG WashTower is an innovative product that combines a washer and dryer in a tower form, and after entering the U.S. market in Sept. 2020, sales have expanded to 77 countries worldwide.
LG Electronics explained that thanks to high energy efficiency and convenience, LG WashTower is growing rapidly not only in Korea but also in Europe, Central and South America, and Central Asia.
In fact, based on its excellent washing and drying performance and high energy efficiency, LG WashTower was named the top product for two consecutive years in the "best washer and dryer sets" category selected last year by the leading U.S. outlet Forbes.
LG WashTower is about 9 cm lower in height than when a drum washer and dryer of the same class are installed one on top of the other. The height from the floor to the center of the dryer door is also a low 148.3 cm, making it convenient even for shorter customers to load and unload laundry from the dryer or maintain the filter.
It also comes with LG Electronics' differentiated "artificial intelligence (AI) Core Tech." It supports features such as "AI Time Sensing," which identifies the load and tells you the expected end time for each cycle in three seconds, and "AI Time Guide," which learns usage patterns to provide increasingly accurate estimated drying times the more it is used.
Baek Seung-tae, executive vice president and head of the HS Business Division at LG Electronics, said, "With LG Electronics' core component technologies and AI, we will provide a new clothing care experience to more global customers through the more convenient LG WashTower."
To lead the combined washer-dryer market, LG Electronics plans to unveil next month a new LG WashTower featuring a flat design without a detergent drawer handle and enhanced customer convenience.
