Samsung Electronics said on the 24th that it unveiled an "Art Basel Hong Kong" collection on the Samsung Art Store, a TV-only art subscription service.
The collection consists of 25 works by 20 artists participating in "Art Basel Hong Kong 2026," which will be held from the 27th to the 29th. ▲ "Europa" by Michael Najjar, a German artist with astronaut training ▲ "Ken" by Sun Yitian, a Chinese artist who drew attention through a collaboration with Nicolas Ghesquière in the Louis Vuitton 2024 pre-fall collection ▲ "Whitfield" and "Untitled" by Hobbish Cheung, a Hong Kong contemporary artist, are included.
As the official display partner of Art Basel in 2026, Samsung Electronics will set up an exhibition booth at Art Basel Hong Kong and present the works through the 2026 The Frame Pro, Micro RGB (red, green, blue), and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) new TV lineups. Visitors can also view works by Korean artists gaining international attention, including Yoon Hee and Yoon Jong-sook, along with the Lee Kun-hee collection from the National Museum of Korea, which was released on the Samsung Art Store in Dec. last year.
The Samsung Art Store is available in more than 117 countries worldwide and showcases a vast catalog of over 5,000 works by more than 800 artists, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Musée d'Orsay, and Art Basel. Samsung Electronics is expanding Samsung Art Store support to The Frame Pro and The Frame, as well as Micro RGB, Neo QLED, and OLED, strengthening its art marketing.
Ko Bong-joon, vice president of the visual display business at Samsung Electronics, said, "This collection, presented on the back of six years of collaboration with Art Basel, shows the high caliber of art content offered by the Samsung Art Store," and noted that "from works shown at world-class art fairs to Korea's cultural heritage, we have rendered them vividly through Samsung Electronics' cutting-edge display technology."
