Wemade Max said on the 24th that it will shift to a sole-CEO system under Son Myeon-seok.
The shift is part of the strategy "leap to a global portfolio corporations in 2026," released early this year. Wemade Max has built a dispersed growth structure by genre, platform, and region based on a five-core-studio system and plans to speed up decision-making on key intellectual property (IP) and strategic projects and strengthen strategy execution.
Chief Executive Lee Gil-hyung will step down from the co-CEO system, remain a member of the Wemade Max board, and focus on managing the subsidiary Lightcon. Lightcon is a development studio focused on the casual genre and is preparing a new title based on the "Wind Runner" IP and a roguelike project.
Wemade Next CEO Park Jeong-su will resign for personal reasons. The company appointed Seong Jeong-guk, executive director of development who is overseeing development of "MIR 5," as the new CEO of Wemade Next. Director Seong is regarded as a key developer who led development of the MIR IP, having served as the producer (PD) of "MIR 4." "MIR 5" is undergoing checks on development direction and refinement of strategy to raise the project's level of completeness.
Wemade Max is pursuing a global portfolio strategy based on the independence and expertise of five core studios: ◇ Mad Engine ◇ Wemade Connect ◇ Wemade Next ◇ One Way Ticket Studio ◇ Lightcon.
Mad Engine is developing next-generation global projects including the triple-A open-world action role-playing game (RPG) "Project TAL," the mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "Night Crows 2 (working title)," and the subculture genre "MO TF." Wemade Connect is preparing new subculture titles such as "Make drama: MAD," "Hundred Note," and "Noah."
