Beijing is home to the headquarters of major Chinese platform and mobility companies such as Xiaomi, JD.com, Baidu, and ByteDance Ltd.
After the forum last year, Lee visited Xiaomi's electric vehicle factory and discussed cooperation in the vehicle electronics and electrical equipment (autoparts electronics) business with Xiaomi Chair Lei Jun. Cristiano Amon, chief executive officer (CEO) of Qualcomm, also accompanied them at the time.
After visiting the Xiaomi factory, Lee also visited the headquarters of BYD, the world's largest electric vehicle company, in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province in the south.
