Samsung Electronics said on the 19th that, according to a survey by global market researcher Omdia, it ranked No. 1 in the global commercial display market last year with a 35.2% share.
Sales last year surpassed 2.5 million units, setting an all-time record.
The survey is based on sales volume and excludes consumer TVs. Samsung Electronics' commercial display products include smart signage, electronic whiteboards, and business TVs.
Samsung Electronics expanded the market with new products such as "Spatial Signage" while leading the market by strengthening its lineup with next-generation displays such as "Samsung Color E-Paper."
Spatial Signage applies Samsung Electronics' proprietary "3D Plate" technology to create a sense of depth, as if there is another space inside the screen, even with a slim 52-mm design.
At the world's largest IT and home appliance show, "CES 2026," held in January, this product won the Innovation Award in the enterprise technology category and, including the product category at the "iF Design Award 2026," received six awards at major global awards.
The ultra-low-power display Samsung Color E-Paper expanded its lineup by newly introducing a 13-inch model roughly the size of A4 paper, following the existing 32-inch.
The 13-inch Color E-Paper is the world's first display to use a bio-resin based on vegetable plankton oil. Through material innovation, it reduced carbon emissions in the manufacturing process by more than 40% compared with conventional petroleum-based plastic materials.
Samsung Electronics is strengthening not only hardware but also its solutions business, providing an integrated digital signage experience that links devices and solutions.
"Samsung VXT," a dedicated solution for commercial displays sold separately, supports various functions such as remote device management, real-time monitoring, and easy content creation and operation.
Through this, customers can remotely manage various types of screens installed in stores around the world or easily create and distribute promotional content for stores.
Next month, the artificial intelligence (AI)-based content creation app "AI Studio," which allows users to easily create signage content with just one photo, will also be added.
Kim Hyeong-jae, vice president of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, "This record is the result of quickly responding to the changing business environment and business-to-business (B2B) customer demands," adding, "We will continue to deliver top value through products and solutions optimized for a wide range of commercial spaces."
