The Korea IPTV Broadcasting Association (KIBA) said on the 19th that it has appointed Yoo Yong-hwa, a professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, as its new chairman.
The association finalized Professor Yoo Yong-hwa as the new chairman through a board meeting on the 11th and a general meeting resolution on the 19th. The new chairman, Yoo, will officially take office on Apr. 1, 2026, and the term is two years.
The new chairman, Yoo Yong-hwa, graduated from Korea University and earned a doctorate in political science from the graduate school of Dongguk University. Yoo also served as a visiting scholar at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and at Georgetown University.
Yoo served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Political Science at Dongguk University and as a policy research officer at the National Assembly, and hosted numerous major current-affairs programs, including KTV "Daehan News," National Assembly Broadcasting "Political Debate Walgawalbu," TBS TV Traffic Broadcasting "Yoo Yong-hwa's Hour by Hour," and BBS Buddhist Broadcasting "Yoo Yong-hwa's Morning Journal." Yoo also worked as a guest commentator at YTN and as a columnist for major media outlets including The Weekly Hankook, Jeonggyeong News, The Kyunghyang Shinmun, and Maeil Business Newspaper.
