Smilegate's global game platform Stove said on the 17th it will release the new pirate survival open-world adventure "Windrose."
Windrose is an open-world survival crafting game set on a vast sea in an alternate history. Players become pirate captains, explore unknown islands, command various ships, and engage in naval battles. Windrose has drawn attention by surpassing 1.5 million global pre-registrations.
Windrose features a seamless play environment that freely connects land and sea. Players can enjoy naval warfare in various ways, from exchanging long-range cannon fire to closing in on enemy ships for boarding combat.
An action-focused combat system and elements of exploration and settlement construction are also cited as strengths. Players can gather resources in regions with different ecosystems and freely build a range of structures, from shelters to large fortresses.
Windrose is slated for a global, simultaneous release in early access across global game platforms, including Stove. The Stove game page will open on the 17th, and further details, including the release schedule, will be provided later.
