Apple on the 17th unveiled AirPods Max 2, a premium wireless headphone equipped with the H2 chip that sharply boosts audio performance and smart features. The model keeps the signature design of its predecessor while adding industry-leading noise canceling and professional-grade recording.
AirPods Max 2 is the first in the Max lineup to use the H2 chip. Based on new computational audio algorithms, it supports active noise canceling up to 1.5 times stronger than the previous generation. Apple said it blocks airplane engine noise and commuter train sounds more effectively to enhance immersion.
Smart features were also strengthened. New additions include Adaptive Audio, which automatically adjusts between ANC and transparency modes depending on the surroundings; Conversation Awareness, which lowers playback volume when the user starts speaking; and Voice Isolation, which reduces background noise during calls. Real-time translation powered by Apple Intelligence is also supported for the first time in the Max lineup.
Sound quality has also improved. A new high dynamic range amplifier enhances instrument placement and bass response accuracy, and with a standard USB-C cable connection, 24-bit/48 kHz lossless audio playback is available. Prices start at 849,000 won.
Preorders begin on the 25th in about 30 countries, including Korea, with deliveries and in-store sales starting early next month.
