Samsung Electronics said on the 16th that its "appliance remote diagnosis" service obtained the "AI Trust Mark" overseen by global certification body Nemko, the first in Korea to do so.
Appliance remote diagnosis is a service in which a professional consultant provides diagnosis and consultation based on remotely monitoring a product's condition and analyzing it with artificial intelligence (AI). Through AI, it provides a function that detects and manages early signs of appliance abnormalities that are hard for users to notice in advance. ▲ "refrigerant leak prediction," which detects abnormal temperature changes in air conditioners and refrigerators early to spot signs of refrigerant leakage ▲ "micro door-opening diagnosis," which determines whether a refrigerator door is slightly open ▲ "oil deposition prediction," which anticipates phenomena that degrade air-conditioner performance and provides management guides. It is available in more than 120 countries worldwide, including Korea.
Nemko is a Norway-based global testing and certification body with more than 90 years of history. It manages standards certification in more than 150 countries around the world. Since 2024, it has operated the "AI Trust Mark," which guarantees the technical transparency and ethical safety of AI systems.
The AI Trust Mark is a system that verifies and certifies compliance with international ethics guidelines and safety standards for products and services using AI technology, including data governance, information transparency and accuracy, and cybersecurity.
It guarantees global-level credibility by conducting reviews based on strict regulatory requirements such as the EU AI Act and the ISO/IEC 42001 international standard. Samsung Electronics' appliance remote diagnosis service obtained the AI Trust Mark certification in recognition of excellence in "personal information protection" and a "management system to ensure service reliability."
The appliance remote diagnosis service also obtained the Korea Standards Association's "AI+ certification." It is a system that reviews and certifies the software quality of AI products and AI management systems based on ISO/IEC international standards. In addition to the appliance remote diagnosis service, Samsung Electronics holds a total of 17 "AI+ certifications," the most in Korea, across major appliance categories including refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners.
