MCNEX said on the 16th it will expand its business into the Robotics field.
MCNEX is developing a "speed reducer" for robot joints based on its core competency in actuator drive control technology. The company said, "We are applying our design know-how from precisely controlling ultra-small components over the past 20 years to speed reducers, researching key parts that enable delicate and flexible movements of robot joints."
MCNEX supplied "optical image stabilization (OIS) for a 200-megapixel wide-angle camera" and a "50-megapixel 5x optical zoom actuator" for Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S26 Ultra model. It also improved the internal structure of the actuator to match the Galaxy S26 Ultra design. It is also mass-producing products such as the "200-megapixel OIS" and the "10x optical zoom actuator." The aim is to extend its capabilities in the "ultra-precise control technology" needed to realize these businesses to the production of robot joints and deliver results.
MCNEX currently has the capacity to produce about 10 million actuators per month through its Vietnam subsidiary. Based on its mass-production experience, it plans to expand into various application fields going forward. A MCNEX official said, "Slim-design technology for ultra-precise drive components and stable mass-production capability are our core competitiveness," adding, "While steadily expanding mobile component supply, we will apply our proven fine control technology to research on robot speed reducers and expand our business into the Robotics field."
