Lyu Jae-cheol, CEO of LG Electronics, emphasized strategic partnerships with Nvidia and Google and said LG Electronics is focusing on developing technology in the home robotics field going forward.
Lyu said in a LinkedIn post on the 16th, "LG Electronics has built deep 'life data' in the home appliance and customer service business for nearly 70 years," adding, "We are experts in home services."
LG Electronics is strengthening its specialized capabilities in industrial settings such as smart factories through Bear Robotics, which it acquired last year, and its affiliate Robostar, and is accelerating its software and hardware capabilities by expanding figure artificial intelligence (AI) investments with Chinese humanoid company AgiBot.
Lyu emphasized, "We are enhancing contextual understanding with Google Gemini and, in collaboration with Nvidia's Isaac platform, training and testing robots in a Digital Twin environment," adding, "Backed by vertically integrated hardware and software optimized for robotics, we have secured powerful On-device AI capabilities."
LG Electronics plans to start with commercial and professional service robots and evolve home appliances into robotic solutions. He said, "Our roadmap is clear," adding, "Ultimately, we will introduce robots that serve as the 'conductor of space' to orchestrate the entire home."
