Selectstar said on the 13th that it joined Open Telco AI, a global alliance launched by the GSM Association (GSMA), as the official partner for data and AI evaluation.
Open Telco AI is a large-scale alliance of global carriers, vendors, and academia to develop telecom-specialized AI with safety and accuracy. Given the nature of the telecom industry, which handles sensitive data, there were limits to directly applying existing general-purpose LLMs (large language models) to specialized areas such as network operations. In response, more than 40 global corporations and institutions around the world, including AT&T, AMD, and Google Cloud, joined under GSMA's lead to build a telecom-dedicated ecosystem. In Korea, SK Telecom and LG Uplus participated, and Selectstar was the only startup to make the list.
Selectstar will serve to verify the overall reliability of the ecosystem within the Open Telco AI council. In particular, it will support the operation of the Open Telco Benchmark, launched alongside the debut of Open Telco AI at MWC 2026. In addition to operating the benchmark built on seven evaluation metrics designed for the telecom industry, it plans to provide AI reliability evaluations and red-teaming services to advance carriers' AI.
Along with this, early this month at MWC 2026, Selectstar unveiled its Generative AI reliability evaluation platform, the Datumo Platform, to the global market. The Datumo Platform is an integrated platform that can evaluate a model's safety and performance from multiple angles. In particular, major global carriers such as SoftBank in Japan, Orange in France, and Deutsche Telekom in Germany took note of Selectstar's Datumo Platform and red team capabilities, opening the door to potential partnerships. In addition, during MWC 2026, Selectstar led the Global AI Red Team Challenge, which it co-hosted with GSMA for the second consecutive year.
