Thinking different has always been Apple's core value.
Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said this in a letter marking the 50th anniversary of its founding posted on the official website on the 13th, saying the spirit of thinking different has led us to make products that help people express themselves, build connections with one another, and create amazing things.
Cook emphasized Apple's philosophy. Cook said, the people who move the world forward are those who think differently, and said progress always begins with someone—an inventor or a scientist, a student or a storyteller—who imagines a better way, a new idea, a different path. Cook added, we are deeply grateful to everyone who has joined us on our 50-year journey, and we are grateful as well for the inspiration to build the future together.
Apple was founded on Apr. 1, 1976. Since then, it has built a hardware and services ecosystem including Apple II, Macintosh, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Pay, iCloud, and Apple TV. Tim Cook explained that these achievements are not a simple evolution of products but an extension of the philosophy that technology should serve individuals.
Cook wrote, the ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who truly do, and paid tribute to the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, and those who see the world differently.
