China's Roborock was found to have taken the No. 1 share in the global smart cleaning robot market last year.
According to market research firm IDC on the 13th, Roborock ranked first with a 17.7% market share on annual shipments of 5.8 million units in the overall home cleaning robot category. The home cleaning robot market includes robot vacuums and lawn mowers.
Roborock has held the global No. 1 position in the robot vacuum institutional sector since the third quarter of 2023. In the second half of last year, its market share based on shipments was tallied at 27%. A Roborock official said, "With active research and development (R&D) investment and product portfolio expansion, we have achieved the result of being No. 1 in the global robot vacuum market for three consecutive years," adding, "We will continue to advance AI-based cleaning algorithms and Robotics technologies and strengthen our leadership in the global cleaning robot market."
Last year, global shipments of home cleaning robots were about 32.72 million units, up 20.1% from the previous year. Among them, the robot vacuum product group achieved a 17.1% year-over-year increase. IDC said, "Competition in the global cleaning robot market will intensify around product innovation and AI technology," and projected, "Competition will further intensify around AI-based functions such as multi-sensor fusion, autonomous decision-making, and spatial recognition."
