Artificial intelligence (AI) corporations TT Tera (CEO Kim Deok-woo) said on the 10th that it will carry out a pilot project for an AI guide and docent with Jeju's "Spirited Garden" and Haenam's "Sani Garden."
TT Tera developed an AI guide and docent that, when visitors connect on a smartphone, shows their current location on a detailed map of the garden and provides guidance through conversations with AI.
Unlike conventional audio guides or simple location guidance, it explains nearby plants, sculptures, and the meaning of spaces in real-time conversations based on the visitor's location.
The company said the AI guide can provide guidance in 48 languages, making it highly useful even at tourist sites with many foreign visitors.
Spirited Garden in Jeju is one of the "world's top 10 gardens" selected by CNN and others. Sani Garden in Haenam, South Jeolla, transformed over a long period of time a land with high salinity and strong sea winds into a garden where flowers and trees blend, and is regarded as a symbolic space of the eco-friendly city "Solaseado."
TT Tera and the two gardens plan to verify through this pilot project how AI-based guidance services change the viewing experience in garden environments.
Kim Deok-woo, CEO of TT Tera, said, "We will work to ensure that AI technology becomes a tool that conveys the value of natural and cultural spaces more richly."
TT Tera is applying for a patent on a "navigation detailed-map-based AI guide and docent" specialized for garden viewing environments.
The company plans to expand in the future to various cultural spaces such as cultural heritage sites, palaces, museums, and art museums.
