ADT Caps, the physical security brand of SK shieldus, said on the 11th it will strengthen its fire response system for industrial facilities based on flame detectors.
According to National Fire Agency statistics, over the past five years, spring (March–May) accounted for about 27% of all fires, while property damage reached about 2.8 trillion won, the highest among the four seasons at 44%. An analysis of ADT Caps' compensation data over the past two years also showed that fire incidents in 2025 increased 35.6% from a year earlier. In manufacturing, about 83% of all compensation claims were for fires.
ADT Caps is expanding the use of flame detectors, which enable faster response than conventional smoke detection. The detectors sense specific wavelengths within seconds when flames occur, quickly spotting incipient fires. They come in two types, ceiling-mounted and wall-mounted, and can be installed indoors and outdoors with adjustable angles, making them suitable for a range of industrial facilities such as factories, warehouses, waste treatment sites, and electric vehicle charging stations.
When an anomaly is detected, the control center links to on-site artificial intelligence (AI) CCTV to check the situation. If it is deemed a fire, the system supports follow-up actions including customer notifications, emergency dispatch, and reporting to relevant agencies.
An ADT Caps official said, "In industrial facilities, initial response determines the scale of damage," and added, "We will strengthen a rapid response system by linking flame detectors with our monitoring infrastructure."
