LG Innotek said on the 10th that it earned a "Leadership A" grade for the third straight year in the 2025 Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) climate change response assessment.
CDP is a global initiative that, under a mandate from major global financial investment institutions, collects, evaluates, and discloses environment-related information on major corporations worldwide to stakeholders through a public platform. The CDP assessment is conducted simultaneously in about 130 countries and is considered one of the most trusted global sustainability evaluations.
This year's CDP assessment for the climate change response institutional sector covered 22,100 corporations. Of these, 766 corporations, or 3%, received a "Leadership A" grade. In Korea, 35 corporations made the list. LG Innotek declared "2040 carbon neutrality" in 2022 and has pursued eco-friendly management activities. The company was highly rated for carrying out carbon neutrality tasks centered on a dedicated organization.
At the "2026 CDP Korea Conference" held that day at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, LG Innotek received the "Carbon Management Sector Honors," awarded to the top two corporations in the IT institutional sector. LG Innotek has been selected as an excellent corporation in the CDP climate change response institutional sector for seven consecutive years from 2019 to 2025. An LG Innotek official said, "Recognizing the severity of climate change as a critical issue, we are making climate change response the top priority of ESG management," adding, "We are making multifaceted efforts, including transitioning to renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and optimizing processes."
LG Innotek has secured a large-scale renewable energy power supply chain through power purchase agreements (PPA) and virtual power purchase agreements (VPPA). It is also carrying out various activities, such as installing rooftop solar power facilities at major domestic and overseas business sites and participating in the Green Premium program.
The electricity that LG Innotek converted to renewable energy last year exceeds 650 GWh. That amounts to 60% of the power used at domestic and overseas business sites. Based on a four-person household (monthly average power consumption of about 400 kWh), it is enough for 135,000 households to use for an entire year.
LG Innotek President Moon Hyuk-soo said, "We are focusing on genuine ESG management activities centered on the transition to renewable energy so that the growing power demand alongside the development of physical AI does not accelerate climate change," adding, "We will continue to create differentiated customer value through global ESG leadership."
