Smartwatch brand Garmin said on the 9th that it will run the "Garmin with Her" campaign throughout March to support healthy and self-directed lifestyles for women to mark International Women's Day on the 8th.
The campaign is designed to help women users systematically manage their daily condition based on precise biometric data such as sleep, stress, heart rate variability (HRV), and skin temperature. Garmin said it is strengthening its role as a "wellness partner" by providing an advanced health management experience based on real-time data, while also actively using the collected precision data to develop women-focused health solutions by sharing it with research institutions and digital health corporations and other partners.
An analysis of data from the company's health and fitness activity sharing app Garmin Connect found that Korean women's exercise patterns have become much more active and professional than in the past. Korean women most frequently engaged in running, swimming, and walking, in that order, and in particular, running logs have grown rapidly in recent years to become a representative exercise.
At the same time, there has been a notable rise in challenging activities such as trail running and high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Wellness-centered activities such as yoga and Pilates are also steadily expanding, suggesting that Korean women are forming a lifestyle of understanding their condition based on data and managing their health more proactively.
During the campaign, Garmin prepared a variety of programs spanning online and offline. First, an offline community class will operate where participants can wear a Garmin watch and experience key wellness features firsthand. On the 7th, a Garmin with Her fitness session with Team Garmin coach Seo Hayan was held, with 20 participants joining. Participants received guidance from a professional coach, checked their workout data in real time through Garmin watches, and reviewed their individual exercise intensity and pace.
On the 21st, a running class led by Garmin Run Club (GRC) special coach Lee Yeon-jin is scheduled. Participants are expected to experience more structured training by using the running features of Garmin watches.
Online events will also be held. Through Mar. 15, a workout verification event will run for followers of Garmin Korea's official Instagram. Entrants can post workout logs symbolizing "3.8," such as a 3.8-kilometer run, a 38-kilometer cycle, or 38 minutes of yoga, to apply. Sharing the post to Stories or tagging a mate you want to work out with in the comments increases the chances of winning. Garmin will select a total of seven participants to receive a vívoactive 6 or Garmin goods and a Kailas Balance Shake.
In addition, a promotion runs through Mar. 31 offering an 8% discount on Garmin's wellness smartwatch lineup. During the promotion, entering the discount code "GARMINWOMEN" allows customers to purchase wellness watches specialized for health and fitness at lower prices than usual, including the Venu 4 (41mm), Venu X1, Lily 2 Active, and vívoactive 6. Details on the online event and promotion are available on the official Garmin Korea website.
Nelson Chen, head of Garmin Korea, said, "Garmin smartwatches are wellness partners that provide a personalized health management experience based on women's physical changes and lifestyles, beyond precise workout performance measurement," adding, "We hope this campaign will help more Korean women users take the lead in managing their condition and build a 'me-like' approach to health."
More information on the Garmin with Her campaign and promotion is available on the official Garmin Korea website and social media (SNS) channels.
